"O MIGH GAWD!!"

If i hear this phrase one more fracking time...

I have yet to see the infamous "MTV TRUE LIFE: I'm a Staten Island Girl" episode, but there's really no need b/c tonight i'm smack dab in the middle of it.
And it's a halloween party.
Literally.

I'm not slighting my fair island when i speak of the matter.
while everyone has a right to comment on a situation "I" simply have more of the right in the same sense that it is ok for me to make fun of my sister b/c she's my sister and i know/appreciate her in whole and not a cookie cut edited perspective.
i really do love this wacky little sliver of the city.

that being said, let me express my own little, "O MIGH GAWD!!" and a very very sincere, "Thank God my sister is not like any of these people."
It was like being in a room full of rabbis, priests, and clerics and not being able to shoot off a single joke.

So i find myself in such a place because my friends Flats and Spin are twisting tunes at a new lounge in a section of Shao Lin that is very much "Staten Island Girl".
I came along for the ride b/c being newly single again (a much longer tale for another time) there was a part of me that figured: hot girls + halloween = win win for tom.

i thought i could do it.
i thought it wouldn't matter.
just for a night.
where's the harm?

it was painful to be in the same room as this crowd.
my arrogant ass simply cannot deal with dumb.
no. dumb is not the right word. dumb i can deal with.
i'm not THAT big of a snoot.
ignorant as all hell is more appropriate.
but the women were hot as hell too.
but not hot enough i suppose.

i will say this spot had the best couple costumes for the evening.
there was a very good Rocky and Adrianne. but for the meathead area we were in, they may not have actually had to have gone much further than their own closet for the gear.
(now i am just being mean)
i thought of posting some pics to empasize this, but some may be considered too racy.
and they weren't all horrible folk.
i do have my career in politics to care for.

so we left there and hit some of our local spots on the "if not smarter at least more fun" shore of the island.
for the most part the costumes were not as good with one notable exception.
There was one outstanding costume that i was thoroughly impressed by over all.It was my local watering hole's own lovely waitress decked out as a spot on Vicki the Robot from my favorite show and yours - SMALL WONDER.
she even had flashing light diodes sewn into the back of her outfit!
it was a thinking person's dark nostalgic humor kind of costume.
(and it didn't hurt that she looked hot in it either.)

Why can't MTV do a show on someone like that from staten island?
